We were created by God to be Kings and Queens, heirs to a throne, but we chose money and popularity instead. We are starving for love and belonging and we don't know it.

In gathering information for my second book, I've come across some outstanding material that can assist us in explaining what the heck is going on with the world today?

The thesis that I am working to prove, the world is the way it is because we have forgotten that each other exist.

The young boy of a different race who is gunned down could just as well be my own brother. The young women exploited on the television screen for my entertainment could be my sister or daughter, both deserve better.

We have placed a large distance between ourselves, which has caused us to forget that we are in this together.

If history tells us anything, we tend to  choose the preservation of ourselves over the person next to us. If true, what does the future hold and how long can this 'party' last?

I challenge you to look your truth in the eye, stare it down, and question its existence in relation to humanity. If it is solely focused on absolute consumption, reconsider, because we are in this together.

9 AM: What Are We Supposed To Do With All This Injustice

Mass incarceration, Tax-shelters  For the Wealthy, School Loan Debt, Inequality, Donald Trumps Mouth and the Oregon Standoff are all examples of a society is shambles.

In order not to get swept away in the propaganda you must focus your mind and steady your feet.

You are playing to win and the vehicles that distribute, feed on, and magnify injustice are distractions. You play to win by fully empowering yourself by not waiting on anything or anyone to do it for you.

The way you do that is through knowledge and action.

Knowledge comes from the books you read and the company you keep. There are no more excuses holding you back from improving your life, the lives of your community, and the people you love.

Action is combining what you know with execution. Now you are able to charge ahead, do not look for permission or acceptance.

You are the catalyst and all the permission you will ever need to take full control of your life.

Why? Take a look around. Most people are waiting on everyone else to make life better for them. You understand that if it is to be you are the change agent.

The injustice will continue and throwing verbal rocks at your television will not change it. Turn off the television, get off social media, say 'no' to pity parties, and get to work.

Do Not Feed The Monster: The Digital News Age

If I wanted you to click on a post, video, or advertisement to generate $1.02 per click*, what would I post?

For starters, I would not post happy, well-mannered news.  I would not post about people getting along and living peaceably.  That is, well, too peaceful.  I would not post about love and kind words, who would want to read that?

The guide to writing well instructs, "Where there is no conflict, there is no story."

To capture your attention, I have a variety of conflicts from which to draw:  hate, violence, sex, racial tension, pain, disease, killings, and shootings.  Any of these will pull you in and entice you to click to read more.

The unfortunate part about digital news in a modern society is it doesn't matter whether the organization is the New York Times, Huffington Post, or Chicago Tribune.  The tactics are the same; to make a dollar off an impulsive need for twisted entertainment.

You are the tool.  Whether red, yellow, black, or white -- you, me, us, we are feeding a hungry monster simply looking to make a profit.

I could inform you not to participate in the consumption, but that is not realistic.  However, you should know what you feed will grow. The more money made on a particular topic per click, more content and information on that subject matter will be posted, good or bad.

The law of attraction, “like attracts like”, means by focusing on positive or negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life.

Then the question becomes, how do we stop attracting negatives and change to attract positives?

Here are suggestions

·      be conscious of what you are viewing online

·      realize that what you view is tracked and someone is turning a profit or creating more content from it

·      create and post content that serves the greater good.

Feed that which creates a brighter future.
